Question
What happens if there is a fire alarm?
Answer
If there is a fire or life safety alarm you will immediately be contacted by one of our fully trained operators from the ARC (Alarm receiving Center). Our system automatically dials out to the contacts you supplied when registering your building(s). This could be, but not limited to, the night watchman, security guard or facilities management team. The operator will notify them of the exact type of alarm and where it is. They will be asked to verify if there is a fire or not. This verification lasts up to 120 seconds. After that the alarm details are passed directly to civil defence for dispatch (verified or not), along with appropriate information about your building (location, occupancy, use etc.) if the alarm is verified as false after the 120 seconds then civil defence are notified.
